  • 12 ounces dried pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for meat sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for yogurt sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika (for butter sauce)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or lamb, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until translucent (3-4 minutes). Stir in cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, and tomato paste; cook until well combined.
  4. In a bowl, mix yogurt with minced garlic until smooth.
  5. Melt butter in a small saucepan; stir in sweet paprika and keep warm.
  6. On serving plates, layer cooked pasta with the meat sauce and drizzle with garlic yogurt sauce. Top with paprika butter.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and halved cherry tomatoes before serving.
