  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into four patties with a slight indentation in the center.
  3. Refrigerate the patties for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. While cooking, mix mayonnaise, lime juice, chopped cilantro, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl to create the southwest sauce.
  6. Toast burger buns until golden brown. Assemble by spreading sauce on each bun and layering with the turkey patty and desired toppings.
