  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs (whisked)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (very softened)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter (very softened)
  • 6 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom

Instructions

  1. Warm 1 1/4 cups of whole milk to about 110°F. Mix with 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast and 1 tsp granulated sugar; let froth.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together 4 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 3/4 tsp ground ginger, and other spices.
  3. Combine yeast mixture with 2 large whisked eggs and 1 tbsp vanilla extract; gradually add dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about an hour or until doubled.
  6. For the filling, mix together honey, heavy cream, brown sugar, and spices until smooth.
  7. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly, roll tightly, and slice into pieces.
  8. Place slices in a greased baking dish to rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. For frosting, blend softened cream cheese with butter, powdered sugar, and spices until creamy; frost warm rolls.
